 Visual Literacy Artifacts

Artifact Descriptions

Visual Literacy has evolved to mean a lot more than pictures to sell items and tools for children on the computer. Illustrations, graphics and images have significance and placed suitably on a page can convey complex ideas that are difficult to communicate from words.

The journal blog AHA moments are my written entries with supporting images and hyperlinks that reflect a 4-month personal journey.

The group project included the creation of a visually appealing presentation. The enduring meaning of the presentation for the audience led to an understanding, meaning, and appreciation of the word "epoch."

Course Description

Design is a language of visuals. To create effective communication with images it is necessary to understand their construction.

Because learners and computer users are a diverse community with different abilities, design principles must reach each collective of learners with a degree of appropriateness. To achieve class objectives one must:
1.) Interpret visuals, design, and examine cultural differences in learning.
2.) Achieve a successful production of materials that include all learners, including special needs individuals.
3.) Demonstrate necessary copyright rules & policies.
